I play numerous roles in this production. It is basically a staged reading of the film script.

For the many fans of 2006’s mega-hit Escanaba in da Moonlight, the wait is finally over! Circle Theatre is proud to present the Chicago premiere of this prequel by playwright and Hollywood big shot, Jeff Daniels. Visit the Soady deer camp in the midst of World War II, forty years before the original. Meet the love of young Albert Soady Jr.'s life, Big Betty Baloo - the woman destined to become the mother of Reuben and Remnar Soady - along with a whole new cast of wacky Yoopers.


Chris Arnold returns to Circle Theatre after directing last season’s Jeff Recommended Boy and 2007’s Tent Meeting. Previously, Chris assistant directed Design For Living, and two pieces for the fourth installment of our New Plays Festival. Other Chicago directorial credits include Earl the Vampire for Thunder & Lightening Ensemble, Pins for Bailiwick Theatre, Blues For An Alabama Sky at Illinois Theatre Center, and directing credits at The Side Project, Act One Studios and Eclipse Theatre Company.
